An Honors University Retriever

As Jake explained his design:

My design is called, "An Honors University," and it is meant to encapsulate the disciplines that one may receive from a UMBC education.  The geometric bands around the retriever's legs, neck, and body are meant to signify the maths and sciences, where as the free form, circular chains are meant to represent the arts and humanities.  The bands are systematically placed in key location on the retriever's body to represent the calculating nature of a student who is majoring in science, math, or engineering.  The circular design, on the other hand, is meant to be free-forming and abstract, to represent the mindset of an arts or humanities student.  I did not add a lot of color to the design.  That is because, I feel that the colors should only be the university's colors, and we really only have three.
